Donald J. Horvath, longtime professor of animal and veterinary sciences at Dr. Donald Horvath, ca. 1957  West Virginia University, passed away in 2011, but left behind a legacy of inspired learning that his family will honor through the establishment of the Dr. Donald J. Horvath Memorial Scholarship.

Hunter, a forest resources management junior from Red Lion, Pennsylvania, was named a 2016 recipient of the Davey Arbor Grant scholarship. Each year, the Davey Foundation awards $1,000 merit-based scholarships to the best and brightest students in the industry. Over the last 25 years, Davey Tree has donated more than half a million dollars through this scholarship program.

“I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream,” and not just any ice cream, but Appalachian Apple Crumble and Land Grant Crunch, two flavors recently voted as most desired in an online poll held by the  West Virginia University  Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design.

To West Virginia University design students, a t-shirt is much more than just an article of clothing.

Earlier this semester, students from WVU’s graphic design and fashion, dress and merchandising programs joined an elite group of designers from five universities to compete in the Student Design League.
