Meet the Grads: Stephanie Rosendale

Senior Stephanie Rosendale chose the WVU Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design because of the feeling she had during her first visit. Once she knew she could major in fashion, dress and merchandising at WVU, it was an easy decision for her. The decision paid off — she will graduate this weekend with a trove of memories and invaluable experiences.

Why did you choose to attend WVU Davis College?

My best friend went to school here, so I came down to visit her and fell in love with the campus. I looked into the school more and saw that they had the major I wanted, so I made the decision to go here.

What was your most valuable experience at Davis College?

My most valuable experience at Davis College was participating in the annual West Virginia University Fashion Show and winning a fully paid trip to New York Fashion Week through Collegiate Licensing and IMG College. Winning that award provided me with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience New York Fashion Week, make connections and meet with amazing companies like Champion and a panel from IMG. I will be forever grateful for that experience.

What advice do you have for current Davis College students?

Don’t forget to take care of yourself. College can be stressful at times, so it’s always good to check in with yourself. You can only do your best work if your mind and body are also doing well.

What advice do you have for high school students?

Set big goals for yourself even if they seem out of reach. Anything is possible if you have a plan and work toward it.

What are your future hopes and plans?

I hope to get a job as an assistant designer to start out. One day I want to start my own clothing brand, but I want to take my time and learn the industry first.
