The Davis College's School of Natural Resources and the Environment has a variety of graduate programs at the master's and doctoral levels to meet your educational, research and professional goals and interests.
Forestry (MS)
Students interested in this program should have completed an undergraduate
curriculum in forestry, wood science or other natural resources related
field. Candidates for the degree may pursue an emphasis in forest resources
management or wood science and technology.
Natural Resources Science (PhD)
Doctoral students in this interdisciplinary program have the opportunity
to specialize in a range of competencies. Students develop an
advanced understanding of and appreciation for the principles of economics,
stewardship and sustainability of our natural resources.
Wildlife and Fisheries Resources (MS)
This program is dedicated to developing the next generation of young
fisheries and wildlife professionals. Students work closely with their
faculty advisor and mentor to develop a unique research program that
will prepare them for a career in this field. Students typically focus
on either wildlife or fisheries for this advanced degree.
GIS and Spatial Analysis (Certificate)
The program is ideal for working professionals and graduate students
who desire advanced training in this high growth industry. It incorporates
predictive modeling, data exploration, technical issues, programming,
spatial hydrology, and remote sensing into the curriculum, making it
the first of its kind in West Virginia.
