Professor Emeritus of Agricultural and Extension Education
For the past 43 years I have tried to make a positive difference in the lives of the students who filled the seats in my classrooms. I have dedicated myself to motivating, educating, caring, listening and advising students. My commitment to the students has come at a price. That price is that I come to work early and stay late. Faculty, staff and students know my work ethic and commitment to serve the students and the University. I am committed to making learning fun while not compromising student effort. I am a very demanding teacher who usually expects more from the students than they expect from themselves. I challenge students to become their very best. For some students that means having to study more, work harder, be more responsible, and apply what they have learned. I do not take attendance because my classes are so exciting. Do to my non-traditional approach to teaching students want to be there. I will have to admit that my personality type, my teaching style and my culture does not appeal to all students. However, they will share the fact that I care about them and their success.
