West Virginia University

Dean’s Welcome

Portrait of Dean Cameron Hackney

I might be biased, but I believe the West Virginia University Davis College of Agriculture, Forestry, and Consumer Sciences is a truly unique place to learn. We have a rich range of undergraduate and graduate programs, an accomplished and diverse faculty, and a wide array of different learning environments, from classroom to lab, farm to forest, greenhouse to nursery school.

It’s important to us that your experiences as an undergraduate or graduate student not only suit your academic discipline but support your professional goals. Hands-on experience is integral to all of our programs, and we pride ourselves in connecting students with the kinds of out-of-classroom activities that can truly prepare them for their working lives. Our students have completed prestigious internships, conducted independent research, and participated in national conferences and events. They’ve received some of the highest academic awards the University has to offer.

We’re committed to academic excellence. Many of our offerings are the only accredited programs of their kind in West Virginia and the surrounding region. Our award-winning faculty members are dedicated mentors and educators, and they’re outstanding scholars and artists in their respective disciplines. We take your educational development seriously, and we’re dedicated to your success.

Thank you for considering our programs, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you’d like additional information, to arrange a visit, or to connect with one of our faculty members.
